Searching Across Multiple Craigslist Sites
Craigslist classifieds have easily become the most popular form of online classified ads in existence. When you take that particular fact and add it to the adjoining fact that online classifieds are the most popular classifieds in existence, what you see is that Craigslist is the most popular classifieds location anywhere. Part of this has to do with the international flair of the free classifieds that appear on Craigslist.com. This is very good for people living outside Craigslist Canada and Craigslist US, but it is also good for those living in those countries because it presents some opportunities when looking for different items.
For the purposes of this particular Craigslist guide, let us take a look at a particular scenario. You are interested in finding a laptop that has very specific specifications for a very specific price range. You are sure that someone out there has a laptop that they might be willing to give away for that price and since you live in Toronto you decide to take a look at the computer section under “for sale” on the Craigslist Toronto website. This is a reasonable place to start, but what would you do if you didn’t find anything that fit your specifications? Most people would give up and start checking junk dealers in their area, but that is not necessarily the best thing to do.
Since you’re already on Craigslist, why not take a look at some of the other cities instead? Generally, shipping will not be that much and you might even be able to get the seller to share the cost of it if you can take the item off their hands. Not everyone is willing to sell across cities because of the trust issue involved, but there are some that might and for that reason you might still be able to get the laptop you want at the price that you want. If you couldn’t find it on Craigslist Toronto but hit pay dirt on Craigslist San Diego, that is a much better ending than having to search through junk dealers.
