Craigslist Breakdown: Community
Craigslist classifieds are divided into many different categories, regardless of whether you are dealing with Craigslist Atlanta or Craigslist Austin (or any of the others for that matter). Understanding what gets posted where is one of the most important aspects of any free classifieds site and with Craigslist.com it is absolutely vital. In order to help you understand the different categories better, this Craigslist guide will now start talking about the different categories that you can post in, starting with the community category. This category is available in Craigslist Canada, Craigslist US and just about everywhere else that Craigslist has a free classifieds site.
Simply put, the community parts of Craigslist.com are for people to discuss different things that are happening locally within the area in question. For example, if there is a particular rib festival happening in Dallas, the Craigslist Dallas community section would be the place to post about it so that people could know about it in advance.
Specifically, the activities or events sections would be the places to do that as it is an upcoming event that also contains some active elements. Exhibitions and gallery displays could be posted under activities, or they could go under artists, even though the latter is usually for artists to post their profiles and information. The same is true for the childcare, pets, groups and musicians. Lost and found is relatively self-explanatory, as are the local news, politics and classes sections. Rideshare is for people that are interested in carpooling to specific places and volunteers is a subcategory that is used when there are volunteer opportunities available. For anything that doesn’t fit with these particular categories, the general tab may be used instead.
Those are the basics about how Craigslist community works. Now that you know, you can use it effectively in future posts that might be relevant.
